There are 25 breathtaking waterfalls within 85 miles of Minocqua. If you want to extend your waterfall tour, there are several waterfalls not far from here. Its definitely best suited for adventurous hikers who enjoy a challenge! If you are looking for a good long day hike this is a winner. The park consists of a parking lot, a picnic area, a pit toilet, and some trails to view the falls. The waterfall has carved out a large pothole. Near the town of Mellen in north-western Wisconsin lies Copper Falls State Park, named after one of the best waterfalls in Wisconsin. You can reach the gravel road if you are heading east but it is easy to miss because US 2 is a divided highway here. When it has water this is a very impressive waterfall. The narrow stream of water makes its way down a near-vertical rock face, creating a truly memorable view. Access to the gorge is prohibited and would be rather challenging.
